Q:

How long does the contracting process take?

To be honest, it depends on the few factors. Whether or not you're already contracted, what carrier(s) you'd like to contract with, and which state(s) you operate in are all factors that can affect the timing of your contracting.

Unfortunately with contracting there's not a unified timeline. Let's schedule some time to discuss it and we can provide a better timeline of what to expect.

Q:

What if I need a contract that's not on your list of offered carriers?

No worries. Just let us know what you need and we'll look into adding that contract. We're always open to new carrier opportunites.

Q:

I hear that I need to certify every year. Is that true?

That depends on the product(s) you're offering. Medicare Advantage, Prescription Drug, and Affordable Care Act products require yearly certifications. We can help guide you through the process and be sure you're checking the boxes as you go along.

Ancillary, Life & Annuities, Medicare Supplements and Off-Exchange Individual plans don't typically require certification yearly.

Q:

What are blackout periods?

There are certain times of the year that carries will enter what is called a blackout period. During this time, the carrier will not allow agents to move their contracts to a new upline and/or may not accept new contracts.

Our contracting department is always in the know on these obstacles and can let you know what to expect.
